The American Dental Association runs a volunteer program that provides dental health care for children from families with financial barrier. The program name is Give Kids a Smile, and this annual event have helped almost 500 thousands children in United States. Although this is not included as dental grants for children, you should check the program out to learn whether it is close to your area or not.

Meanwhile, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), in cooperation with Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children (HSHC) also offer a grant for local community-based organizations in United States that will provide free or low cost oral and dental care for at risk and underserved children in United States. Again, this is not a direct dental grants for children, but the AAPD and HSHC Access to Care Grants will help communities to spread the goodness and free/low cost dental care for more families. If your child is between 13 to 19 years of age, and is currently studying in junior or high school, you may be eligible for Tomorrow’s Smile grant. The grant is available thanks to the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation. These children must come from a family with financial need; they have to write an essay describing their need, and should participate in the Pay It Forward program. Those who are eligible may even get free aesthetic or cosmetic dental care such as bleaching, orthodontics, cosmetic periodontics, bonding, oral surgery, etc.

There are also many grants available for you in your State. Just make sure to check your State’s Dental Association to learn about the possibilities. One good example is from the California Dental Association that provides Crowns for Kids grant, which is given for dental societies or local nonprofit organization that implement programs that support children’s oral health.
